I have always loved helping people. One of the most rewarding things about being a wedding manager is the smiles and tears of joy from the bride, groom and their family and friends. Love and family are the driving force behind what I do.
It is truly humbling to me for people who don’t know much about me to put their trust in me to help them plan and coordinate one of the most important days of their lives. I’m known to be working behind the scenes making sure everything comes together. I love to be a part of any celebration especially that of a bride and groom finding their happily every after.
Growing up I was known for marching to my own beat, coloring outside the lines and just a bit strong willed, but always having a big heart and willing to help and plan. I would dream of the day I would get my married and how beautiful the wedding would be. Now my dream is to help others coordinate their beautiful wedding and help them live happily ever after.

WHo am I
Michalea Smith is a wedding and event manager located in West Palm Beach, FL. She is a christian wife, mother, and an organizational queen. In my spare time, I love to read, travel, looking for deals in consignment shops, and cook soul, and Caribbean food. I am all about uplifting and helping others. That is why I volunteer, support, and mentors at Dress for Success Palm Beaches, a non-profit organization that helps disadvantage women in Palm Beach County. I’m also known as the lady with the blue hair who loves cute purses.
Growing up I always knew I want to work in a job where I was helping people. Growing up I had set my heart on being a Cardiologist. Well that didn’t work out…lol. Being a wedding planner I get to help couples plan the wedding of their dreams.
Michalea has a passion for weddings, and events, love and happy clients.
Michalea obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kaplan University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix,. To further her skills and knowledge, Michalea has completed training with Event Planning Blueprint, was a student at Wedding Industry Education and The Business Building Collection. She also has a seasoned wedding planners as her mentors and coaches. Michalea is always looking to learn new ways to perfect her craft.
I had never set out to be a wedding coordinator, it kind of just feel in my lap. I have always been well organized, and I helped 2 major grocery stores keep their back offices organized. When I coordinated my first wedding, I was operating a home daycare. I met a very young couple at church who wanted to get married. The bride told me she about all of things she did and, bought, but had no to help out it all together. Hey, guess what, that help was me. I did just a few weddings after that. I had no idea that I could have some much fun coordinating weddings while having the best time ever.
Some time has passed, and I have decided to turn my hobby into a business. While doing some research, I saw that there are event planners, that plan and coordinate weddings, corporate and non-profit events. I went to Google and searched for a local non-profit and found Dress for Success Palm Beach. I emailed the director and told her what I was looking to do. I got invited to a meeting. It just so happens that they were planning their first luncheon and fundraiser. Well I went and they brought me on as their Day of Management Coordinator.
Six years later, Dress for Success Palm Beaches is a like a second home for me. This organization is more that just a place to showcase my skills. I am now a volunteer, and mentor for one of the job readiness programs. Dress for Success has become near and dear to my heart. Dress for Success is a worldwide organization that help disadvantage women by providing them with free clothing, job readiness classes and classes to help them after they get a job. Helping people has always been a passion of my so this was a great fit.
Four years later I did all the things necessary to get my business started. Just 3 weeks into the New Year that’s when one of the many challenges happened. There were things that happened to me that I never thought would happen. I did not book any weddings under my company. I did however work with another planner, did a few events for church members, and continued to serve on the event planning committee for Dress for Success.
Two years later again I had a very serious health scare that required a life saving operation. By the grace of God, I’m still here. While I was recovering my surgery, I lost a very very special friend to cancer. After almost having lost my life, I knew that I had to pursue something that I was passionate about, weddings.
Today I’m doing better than ever and ready to help brides and grooms bring their vision to life. I cannot wait to take this blissful journey with you down the aisle. No matter if your wedding is small or big, my goal is to ensure that you and your family take center stage. You will not regret make this investment.
